Ok... yes. Lame title, I know. But this is honestly what I had in mind for this piece... I received a nifty set of markers for Christmas, and decided to give them a go, hehe.. though the skin tone and hair was done with colored pencil. (Because I only have a really basic set, lacking the proper colors) Anyway.. I shaded and added lighting a bit on photoshop, for fun...

The image, of course, is Inuyasha, but younger. I pictured this image being from Izayoi's (his mother ?) point of view... kind of like a memory of sorts. I was inspired by that early episode where that creature unleashed by Sesshoumaru takes on the shape of Inuyasha's mother, and despite being somewhat evil to him, she's nevertheless attached to him, as though he were really her son. Anyway, this is a memory that was never hers... which might have surfaced as she might have looked upon him, during that particularly harsh embrace they shared together. It was such a sad creature, I felt pity for it... (well, a much as one can for a fictional character, but anyway.) And this memory in particular, isn't a happy one... I pictured poor little kid-inu seeking comfort, looking back to his mother for reassurance, fearing being shunned by normal people.

I hope you like it.... You can see at places where I attempted to use my old markers.. they bled all over the linework.... *sighs*

Note: I am finding that Inuyasha Fanart is overdone, ironically enough.... but I thought it important to mention that I usually use fanart figures I'm familiar with to test new media... that way, if it goes wrong, I know that it's not the subject matter that's to blame, but rather my technique, lol. Anyway, also, I do love the show.. though I hate how much fanart there is of it. It desensitizes people (including myself) entirely to the atmosphere or other pictoral elements of pics, lol.... Anyway, enough babbling.

Wow, the lighting and the soft feel of the picture is wonderful ^_^ I usually don't like much InuYasha fan art, because...well, so overdone. But this just needed to be commented on. o_o Great job! ^_^

lol, i cant see any evidence of old markers, all the lines look good to me :D

and this has a very heavenly feeling to it, as though his mother might be gazing upon him at that moment
though he is growing up, progressing further in his life, becoming more of a man, and less of what she remembered him as

p.s. i love the color in the eyes :)

If I was going to die tomorrow...Would you love me like you did yesterday? :sadangel:

Indeed, I agree.. it is overdone. I'm kind of sick of it myself, though my gallery is overrun with it... ^^;. I usually do fanart of something I'm familiar with to try out a different medium though.. to test new ground. Anyway, I AM glad you like it, nevertheless, and thanks!

You nailed it, once again! That's exactly the kind of look I wanted for this image.. Otherworldly, sorta... hazy.... as though the source of it is ambiguous. Anyway, thanks!

Aw...how sad...and you can really see the fear in his eyes.. *nods* very beautiful! Impressive as well ^^; I can only color properly on the computer, even then it's pretty bad ^^; very cool!
