This is my entry for *Urd-chan's Temple of the Dog t-shirt contest. For those of you who don't know, Temple of the Dog is a very well-known fan-fic written by the talented *Urd-chan, which meshes the mysterious wonder of Ancient Egypt with the adventurous, romantic fun of Inuyasha. I must confess that I'm not much into fanfics myself, usually, but this one was more than worth the read. Urd-chan is absolutely brilliant and recounts her original fanstory in wonderful detail. A must-read for any Inuyasha fan! ^_^

Anyway, she's having a t-shirt contest, with the theme of Temple of the Dog. I've been working on this for a REALLY long time... like, way longer than I usually spend on my pieces. I'm quite pleased with it, though there are two versions. One which features only the middle circle, and this one, with the background. I thought it was too plain without a background, as a deviation, but on a t-shirt, it might look more appropriate, who knows. Anyway, about the figures... I was trying to do this... "3d-2d" thing. Like, you know how Egyptian art is so 2-dimensional it hurts, lol? I tried to make them sort of stiff looking on purpose, before you say anything lol. Also, their hands were inspired by Egyptian court art of some Pharaoh and his wife which I saw... I wish I wasn't such a n00b at Egyptian knowledge, but maybe someone better informed can remind me who that was. Because it was the first actual romantic art archeologists had ever discovered... it could have been Ramses, but I'm not sure. Anyway. :slow: hehe.

All the entries thus far are really amazing, and the competition's gonna be stiff. :excited: I'm actually very excited about this, because it was a lot of fun to do.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity, *Urd-chan, this one's for you! I hope you like it!

I called it "Oasis"... because yeah.. I'm all about metaphors n' crap.

Nimbus,
Wow, you've combined two of my favorites, Inuyasha, and an Egyptian theme. I hope you win Urd-chan's contest! I especially liked the addition of the jewelry on IY's ear. Nice touch.
Another Favorite!
Good luck, & Cheers!

:giggle: Heee... I'm so glad you like it. I'm rather fond of it myself, but I don't want to get too carried away. I guess it was just a lot of fun to do.. especially the coloring. Anyway, I'm glad you like his little ear-tag as well! Thanks so much, you're always so kind to me. I really appreciate the encouragement, and am flattered. ^_^

Nimbus,
My kindness can only equal your talent, my dear. The ear tag caught my eye because one of my cats actually has a pierced ear! It used to be two cats, but the younger one got the captive ball out, and wouldn't let us put it back in. I figured it was her choice, right?
Cheers!
