Ok.. this thing is far from finished, and IT'S PISSING ME OFF. I've been working on this pic for SO long.. experimenting with new coloring methods... and I can't get what I want. I came up with a version that is somewhat finished (on the right) but I can't do the background for crap. The one in the middle is just to say that I added some kind of background, although it's really a sellout with cheezy photoshop brushes, lol. ( I just felt better having it somewhat finished.) So it's not worth much, although I am ridiculously happy with the pose, seriously. I've never done a perspective shot quite like this, and I was uber happy with it, which is why I'm busting my butt so hard to get a good background. My original idea was to do a sort of ballroom scene, but until I get better reference for marble floors, I'm stuck with this version. Hopefully I'll post a better, updated version of this later, once I get it right. Any advice would be welcome!
Anyway, this is my character Mesushishi... this is a follow-up pic to the other ballroom-style shots I submitted a while ago. I pictured her being somewhat left out in the crowd, as she sucks at mingling. I hope you like it, though it's a W.I.P. And yeah. Anyone says anything about the boobies.... *mutters* -_^
**I also tried a different pen and inking style, which is why I posted it as well.
Wow... I was looking at this full size, and the three images next to one another are amazing; even though you put it as a WIP layout, the concept is pretty cool. Very nice tone and color, the hair is wonderful.
uhh.... Just a suggestion, how about change the light for her? Like in the background you have your ballroom people in their candle lit dance floor or whatever, but on her you have a harsh light near the back of her, but a softer light coming up below her face.... Just to give this kind of pose a little difference. Just an idea... uh... i'm not sure if I said it right or not... x.x
wow, liz, this is awesome! ^__^ The perspective is great and I LOVE the soft yet striking colors, especially in the second shot where everything kind of glows ^^ It's beautiful! Her hair is wonderful! And where's Gilden? He just left her by herself?! What kind of date is he? LOL...
This is wonderful!! I hope you come up with a background it will compliment this picture beautifully!! You did such a great job with the pose..i applaud you
Actually, I kinda like the one on the left. With so much art done digitally, a little unfinished pencil look is kind of refreshing. But really, all the images are just awesome. The pose especially. It's just... so full of emotion and... stuff. You know. emotional... stuff. Though maybe that's just because I can relate to the mood.
This is so good, I can't even make insanely obvious jokes and puns.
